Welcome to FTE nice looking 67 any goodies in her ?
Nothing crazy. 86 5.0 freshly rebuilt, djm I beams, shackles and perches, 3 speed auto transition rebuilt with shift kit, dual 2.5" exhaust/headers. Runs and drives real nice. I dont want to go to radical because my plans are to put ac in it, dyno mat it, put a stereo in it, paint/wheels and tires and drive it daily (which I'm doing already). Here's a ****ty pic of the engine compartment.
Hey bud! I'm in Bermuda Dunes! What's your truck look like? I'll keep an eye out for you.
I knew by your picture that the mountain looked familiar. I run just a couple of miles from ya. I have a '72. This is a picture of the truck when it was in Thousand Oaks. I can't find my newer pictures, but I have a white shell on it currently. I have it at a buddies working on the motor and exhaust system right now.
Ah. My '69 F100 originally had manual drums. 2 days after I bought it, (four years ago), the right rear wheel cylinder blew and I discovered the manual brake MC was leaking into the cab. I replaced all the drum brake components, wheel bearings, seals, etc., all the way around and got a new MC. ($500 or more dollars invested in everything).
After a few months, I robbed a dual-diaphragm brake booster from a '75 F350 1-ton and put it on the all wheel drum setup.
A few months ago, I began changing quite a few things on my truck. One of the changes was to pitch the stock '69 front drums/I-beams and replace them with front discs/I-beams from a '77 F100.
New 'conventional' old style cast iron MC mounted to the F350 booster.
Latest change to a 'modern' MC mounted on the '75 F350 booster.
....and after I made the brake lines to plumb the MC up.
Very nice! You have got some nice equipment going on that rig. I have got a lot to learn about these trucks as far as what is interchangeable with what and what isn't. I was previously a Chevy guy. I do have some experience with fords though as my high school car was a 66 Mustang. Still have it but it needs some work. I'd like to pick your brain some time.
Aw a nice cool area in the winter that is. I've was there when it was down to 16* and at Thermo 126*
I use to work all over that area when worked for a water well drilling outfit back in the mid 80's
Also worked up at Kaiser corp. at the old Eagle Mountain ore Mine, I've 4wheel all over desert the areas even out to Rice.
Found a lot of General Patton left behind and berried stuff..
Welcome I see you've got some work on the motor if you did it or not you'll learn some good tips for just about everything you want to do to your ride.
I made official introductions in the appropriate area but I'm pretty sure ill be spending most of my time here as I continue my journey with this pickup. I look forward to learning from all the knowledgeable people on this site. ?Here is a pic of my 67 F100.
