plz help

I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I'm looking to buy a 08 f250. It has 70k miles on it. The guy is running a mini max tuner on it. I did notice on a cold start as soon as he hit the acceleration it had alot of black smoke. Is this normal? And is there anything I should b aware of when looking this truck over. Thanks and your response will b greatly appreciated.

It is obviously tuned and has a dpf delete. If you have to have the your vehicle inspected atleast in my state even though we don't have emissions inspectons but they will fail it if the cat or dpf is missing or have and emissions inspection it will not pass without the emissions equipment in place so if he dosent have it to sell with the truck it will be pretty expensive to replace. in stock form the emmisons equipment can be problematic and is probably or atleast part of why this truck was deleted. You should also find out if he has had the head gaskets and head studs done. That could also be why he's trying to dump it and not have to put any more money into it.

Thano you for your reply. I will Def check into the gaskets and head studs. He says they were done. Is there a way to be able to tell if head studs were done by just looking at the motor?
