Fri night my wife and i where @ Wal-mart and i was in the clearance section and there was a coleman power cooler there that the box was damaged and was on sale for $70.00 so i thought what the heck and we bought it for my truck(semi).. MAN that is the best cooler i have ever bought it sits in my truck pluged into the ciggarette lighter and no mater how hot it gets in my truck i always have cold water and pop so i now keep lunch meat and cheese, ect in it!!
I would recomend it to anyone who goes camping or fishing because it has the plug in for your cigarette lighter or for the plug in in your house/cabin..
I've got a little one that my father-in-law found and gave to me. The problem is, it needs the cord to plug into the cigarette lighter. If you could post the phone number or website to order parts for these coolers, I would really apreciate it.
thanks.
I bought one of those back in 1998 and used it driving all over this great country. I removed the center console in my truck, and put that in instead. Its like an american express, I wont go on a long trip without it.
These things are pretty good. They will keep whatever, about 30-40 degrees cooler than the air. So it pays to keep them in a cool place, otherwise they won't keep things cool for long. Still good for trips where you have them in your AC'd cab. I also have one of thsoe 2 can coolers to keep the drink handy. It doesn't cool enough for my taste.
Note that a lot of these units pull a fair amount of power, something like 5-10 amps depending on size. If you leave one of the big ones running all day with the engine off you might not be able to start.
I used a koolatron in my old KW for years it worked fantastic
just remember to keep good air flow around the intake fan
I've heard about a few guy's buring them out because they
didn't give sufficent airflow. Also heard a few stories that
using it for heating will take it's toll on them too.For heating
food I used lunch box stove by Barjan it worked great. My new
KW has a small fridge and freezer unit and microwave. But I still
use my Koolatron almost every weekend. I also keep a 2LT bottle
of frozen water in it for when I'm not running the engine for lengthy
periods of time.
works great for not killing the batts..
