rear lights

1984 F150, Need some help. Starting to put truck together after some work, had box off. The front lights all work fine. Brake lights work, but when I put it in reverse the upper brake/turn lights come on. Also when turn signal is turned on both sides blink, but dimly. The only plug I discounted was to remove box and that can only plug in one way. Any help would be appreciated.

I have one more question. Under the dash, There is a black box to the right of the wiper switch, is that the ignition switch. According to some draws it shows it might be. My clutch switch has a plastic rod with clutch up, that hits that box quite hard as to push the dash out a little, could this be connected to my problem with the rear lights.

You need to reconnect the ground wire to the bed inside the L (and maybe R, too) taillight openings. If it's already attached, trace it to the frame and attach it there, too.

The ignition switch is mounted to the R side of the steering colum. Are you seeing the interval governor?

Thanks for the photo, I do see one that it could be, will check it out. The ground was something I overlooked. I noticed no wires when I removed box, but will install some, painted frame and box so that was properly the ground before.
