Buzz, I get the "give me the old trucks any day" comment......I love the convenience of the new vehicles, but probably couldn't change the oil.....Missouri typically has 45-60 days (or shades of) grey during this time of the year.....we did have a great day yesterday and today.....here is a glimpse at being "off of the pavement" in this neck of the woods..... it was a great day here (glad we missed the turmoil of the Noreaster going up the east coast):

After a bit of life getting in the way, I am back on my project, I have been unable to find molded foam for the bench seat bottom cushion......I know an upholstery shop can shape and form, but I would like a solution I can deal with (pre-formed).

As an update I finally received my seat fabric from SMS..........excellent quality (I am quite impressed)....the only disappointment has been that I ordered it in December, it was promised to me by the end of February. and I just now received it (end of June) after many phone calls to nudge them along.......don't be in a hurry to get their product, again the quality surpassed my expectations......colors are dead on and the embossed logo and stripes and all patterns are dead on......it cost around $5-600 for all of the fabric vinyl and plaid cloth and embossing.

Closing again with the initial question posed......are there any sources in which to by this pre-formed foam from? Thanks, m.

Very nice work. Love the shop. Just noticed as I went thought the pics, on the front axle it appears the brake shoes are small (less friction material) facing rear?? Maybe Im seeing it wrong. The larger shoes (more friction material) should always be backside of axle, small shoes front side. Same in the rear when you get there. I used to know why it makes a difference but think it has to do with heat dissipation...nice work, congrats on such an original truck!!

Camper Special doesn't alter the tires available so the reference is 1966 F100 4x4.

Standard tire size was

7.75 x 15 - 4 PR PT, 5 1/2 K Rims

Optionally there were 6 other tubeless sizes and 3 other tube-type tire sizes available to order RPO.

1966 Ford F100 4x4 short bed fixer

I just bought this truck and am wondering, is it more valuable to rebuild it 100% original, or change a few things such as engine, pwr brakes etc. Any thoughts??

AFAIK, there is no such thing as a 1966 F100 4WD Camper Special.

1966 F100 4WD front fender emblems will read: FOUR WHEEL DRIVE

1966 F100/250 2WD Camper Special Emblems will read: Camper Special.

1966 F100 4WD came with 15" wheels as standard equipment. 16" and 17.5" wheels were optional.

1966 F100 4WD with 15" and 16" wheels: Front fenders have a 36" opening radius. With 17.5" wheels, the front fenders have a 45" opening radius.

The 1966 Salesmans Facts Book lists the F100 4x4 as being available with the Camper Special package as long as it is the 129" wheelbase. There were no Custom or Deluxe Camper Special packages available in the F100 like the F250 had, only the base Camper Special package itself.

Yep! The Camper Special was in fact avail on a F100 4x4 at a cost of 58.00

On F250 the Custom Camper package which included the Camper Special was 167.30 $$ Option

The F250 Deluxe Camper Special package was 206.00

I have a original copy of the 2-21-66 Truck Price guide.
This clearly showed what was avail and what was not and the pricing.
The copy I have has Wholesale to dealer, Schedule "A D&D, Wholesale Delivered, Suggested List and Suggested Retail Delivered prices.

It also appears the F100 was possible to have a Ranger 4x4 but Ranger not avail in F250 4x4.

Ranger Package 96.60 and Console was 51.50.
