I have just bought the front and rear sway bars from ADDCO. My truck is a 1977 F-150 2wd that never had them. The instructions for installation leave a LOT to be desired. I would like to see some pics of WHERE and HOW these things are installed. I am a visual learner so written instructions leave guessing as to what I am doing. Thanks Popa John.
I've seen ADDCOs installed two ways.. Method 1 is that I-beams are drilled and endlink L-brackets are bolted through. Method 2 uses U-bolts installed over the I-beams to which a 1/4-inch plate endlink brackets are mounted.
Either way, loosely mount the endlink brackets to the swaybar and then center and clamp the swaybar bracket to the frame. That'll put you in the ballpark.. I can't give much more direction until I know which mounting style is being used.
Here is the L-bracket style on a drilled I-beam. I thought it was inverted... not so. This style requires careful positioning because I have seen an F-Series where the bar actually rubbed the coil spring.:
Here is the U-bolt style mount with the endlink mounting plate. The principle remains the same.
I cannot stress enough to mock it up at ride height with the weight on the suspension. Drill the I-beams first.. then swing the sway bar up, install the frame brackets, then mark the frame brackets' holes.
THANKS GUYS. HIO Silver the bracket type is what I have for the front bar Thanks for that pic and as far as the rear one goes the diagrams from 77&79 are good to go . Again THANKS guys... I have gleaned a LOT of excellent info from this forum. I tried to give some kudos to you boys but it keeps telling me I have to spread them around. What ever that means, lol,

You're welcome.
Note in the L-bracket style pic above ...look above the endlink bolt where the bushing and cap is rubbing the bumpstop bracket - the shiny spot with rust around it...... You don't wanna do that.
