New Member from Germany
I'm Jens from Ruppichteroth in western Germany.
I'm 32 years old, I like camping & travelling and have a major Interest in Motorbikes
In December i was on my second Trip to the US, and it seems like everytime I come over there's a need to buy a new Car

The last time in 2012 I bought a '94 Thunderbird LX (which is for Sale), and now its a 1998 F250.
I definetly am a Truck-Fan, it's really impressive how many Trucks are on the Streets over in the States, here in Germany Truck sales are increasing, but they still are rare.
Besides the US Fords I got a 2001 Ford Escort Express Van as a Dailydriver and a Lada Niva for Offroad and Camping tours.
First, since its a Truck forum, my F250:

Thunderbird LX 4.6 V8. Nearly mint Condition, it only has 40000 mls on it:

The Lada Niva, a small Russian 4x4. it's tough and nearly goes everywhere. Reduction and Difflocks are Standard. Picture was taken on a Trip to Estonia, 2013:

And last but not least the Dailydriver: Ford Escort Express, equipped with the bulletproof 1.8 IDI Diesel. A practical thing, with great MPG's (40 MPG mixed cty-hwy!)

So I hope to have a good Time here and make new Friends!

My F250 is sold now, there was a mean Storm in July, with Hail big as Eggs (No kidding!). The Truck was standing outside and was damaged badly. Hood, Roof, Windshield, Mirrors, RollBAK Cover of the Bed, Tail lamps...Major damages!
BUT luckily I had a good Insurance that paid nearly as much as I paid for the Truck!
So I decided to sell the Truck as well. With all the damages I got ~3300$ out of it!

A little addition: US-Made Trucks are expensive here in Germany.
So my Plan was to get a 94-97 Powerstroke, but there wasn't a good one on the Market that was underneath 10.000$

In the meantime I realized that I could use 5 seats far more often than the Bed of a Truck, so I began searching...Expedition - No Chance to get one. Excursion - no Chance as well.
So I bought the little Brother, a 1999 Explorer XLT 4.0 SOHC

Good Condition, 100.000mls on it, TÜV approval 1,5 years left (you need that TÜV-Test every 2 years to run a Car legally in Germany). And it was a good price, about 3.000$!
In Germany, Explorers are much cheaper than Fullsize US-Trucks, because they were sold by Ford officially for some years. Still kinda rare though.
There it is:
