HIO that bumpside crew looks exactly like my unibody crew cab's bed. sweet truck above is there a build thread on that crew?
I wish there was a thread... I cannot recall where I saved it from. Prolly Fordification. I like it although it's lowered too much for my tastes. I'd like to do that to my LBB.
Too low stance, and I really dislike the proportions of the bed.
Personally, I think it would have looked better with the full-length short bed.
I also think the vehicle would look better (whatever the ride height) if it was sitting level. Raked vehicles don't do nice things to brakes when the weight is already shifted (biased) more onto the front wheels to start with. It's even worse if you're in a situation where you have to jump on the brakes.
The extra short beds do look funny but I've grown attached to mine. After you see it for awhile you start to like it atleast I did. I can already feel the flaming in my not even started extra short bed build thread. hahaha.

While the change might not be everyone's cup of tea, build your truck the way YOU want it built.
YOU are the one it has to please and YOU are the one that will have to drive it, not someone else.
If you made modifications to your truck and people like it, it's nice to hear their compliments of the job you've done.
On the other side of that, if I've done something someone doesn't like (my steering wheel, for example), I'm not really concerned about it. I like my steering wheel choice and I had a secondary objective for why I chose that particular steering wheel --the convenience and ease of adding cruise control switches to it. --Not possible with my stock '69 steering wheel.
I may not particularly like some of the things people do to their truck but, I respect the fact that it's their truck and theirs to do with it as it suits them.
When people ask for opinions of how they should build their truck or what parts to put in it, it ends up being built for other people and not the one that has to deal with it daily.

....it's yo thang, do what chew wanna do.
I totally agree with you here. I was just offering my opinion/ feedback. I am not passing judgement on anyone. While a modification of what someone does to their truck may or may not be my cup o' tea, I can always appreciate the work involved. On the first gen broncos, I like the look of the half cab, but in my eye it is proportioned correctly as it came from the factory. However,I saw at a show once a four door quad cab version of a first gen bronco that I thought looked out of balance visually. But I still appreciated the time, talent, and money that went into the project. When modifying your own truck, do what makes you happy. Even if no other person likes what you have done, you will be happy. They can get their own truck and do that one their way.

Bingo!
When someone else starts funding the parts/modifications to my truck, THEN they can start calling the shots of what does or doesn't get done and how it's done.
I'm very particular in the detail of the stuff I work on/add to my truck. The stuff that doesn't show gets just as much attention to detail as the stuff that does show.
My truck has plenty of areas that need attention but as I add new things, those things had plenty of time spent on them to make them look good and to be installed right. --that's why 3 months later I'm still working on it. --if only I didn't care about the details, the truck would have been back together and on the road weeks ago.....
Totally agree with you guys on doing what "I" want to do. The tread was started so I could leverage the great collective knowledge on this forum. Through this thread I've received some kind advice, tips on mocking it up, links to other build treads and much more in return. That's what a group forum is for, right!? When I get some free time I'll start a digital mockup and let you guys see what I'm talking about. Who knows, I may end up leaving it alone and just driving it! I do love my trucks.
I'm interested in what you come up with for the bed. It's great how you can play around with different sizes now days on the computer to get you a good idea on how it will look before you even start on the real thing.
3X the digital mock-up would be great to do 1st. I think Hio's pic is close though. Thanks Hio. I've been calling for someone to build a Bump "supercrew" for prolly a year now. Remember crazed? I believe it was you who posted pics of yours in a humorous answer back to the 1st time I brought it up. When Ford 1st brought out the f150 Supercrews I thought the proportions looked weird. They soon grew on me. I've owned my 2003 Harley F150 Supercrew since 2006. I think the supercrew in Hio's pic would be Awesome with a level stance and without those ridiculous "Hotwheels" tires and wheels. 16's or 17's fine. My .04.
