Catalytic Convertor may be bad
How can you tell when there bad? How much do they cost to replace (ballpark)? What other options are there.... Ford 350 XLT Lariat - 460 / AT (California) ??Thanks

Catalytic Convertor may be bad
They usually fail to getting loaded up with carbon or fuel deposits like using leaded gasoline.
Two checks:
1). Flow - does it create excessive backpressure in system.
2). Catalyst efficiency - Looking for unburned HC and higher Oxy levels in exhaust.

As to cost, I have never paid for a replacement so I can't help you on that one.
