Assuming the transmission has been properly maintained but not knowing what transmission you have, I'd suggest a look at the vaccum modulator, kickdown rod, throttle cable adjustment, general engine condition to name a few.

thanx.......it's a c6 transmission and i got the truck a few days ago with no maintenance history. i'll try to adjust it first since it has been acting strange.
