I plan on holding off on the tyranny swap until the auto goes bad anyways (hopefully not for a long time lol) but I'd at least like to gather all the parts I think I'll need. The front end swap however is somthing I would like to attempt this spring/summer.
83capril,
I was reading your reply and has a question. You wrote " I believe the D60 uses a different (good?) on the t case and axle" I'm assuming that's a typo or auto correct? I don't mean to sound dumb but what did you mean?
Thank you all for the info. I'm gonna do a lot more research before I tear into anything!
Yes it was an auto correct fail... Good is suppose to be yoke. Well at least that's what I believe it is called. The part that the drive shaft mounts to on the transfer case and front axle. I wanna say it is larger than what the F250's got. They use larger U-joints. Sorry I missed that.
Also I got to thinking. If the donor axle is off a dually, I'm not sure if the D50 brake calipers mount to the D60 axle. I'm sure they would need replaced anyways. I know the hubs interchange.
