Starting up ?

I have the 7.3 F350, when I drive the truck and drive a short distance, turn it off , get back into the truck to start it, should I turn the key and wait for the light to go off or can I just start it being the motor is all ready worm, I do not want to hurt the motor, I have had this truck for short while now and wait every time to start it like I was told from the dealer, but it does not make sense to me, the motor is worm all ready, this is my first diesel truck and I was told to wait every time for the light to go off.

I always wait for the light to go out so the pcm can make all its checks of the engine.

I noticed that it will make a some kind of check when I turn the key over, I will just keep on doing what I was told, thanks powerstroker250 .
