Seems a shame, but maybe there is something to ‘survival of the fittest’.

I've been seeking a quality bedside alarm clock for a few years now. Ever since shortly after they changed the calendar for start/end of daylight savings time. My old one would change DST automatically, but you could not change when that happened. It was hard coded in. It is a good clock, keeps the time during a power outage, and still keeps time out in my garage shop.
Alarm clocks have gone the way of buggy whips and disco. I guess everyone uses their cell phone, probably stuck into some kind of base station. But I don't like that, don't want that. It sucks you into getting a new one every few years when your cell phone gets a new charge port.
I don't see your particular model on Amazon, but I do see that La Crosse makes one that is also an alarm clock. $29.99! It doesn't have grass or flowers though. I don't really use an alarm clock anymore, except for special occasions. For the most part my wife is my alarm clock. So I've just been tolerating a bedside clock that I dislike a lot. I've given up on it for any purpose other than rolling over and checking how much longer I can slumber before the dog gallops in. And if I don't roll over quietly enough, she will gallop in anyway.
Sure would be nice to roll over, check the time, and if the temperature outdoors is not to my liking, just roll back and pull the covers up higher.
Have I mentioned how great it is to work out of a home office?

Our Feb thread is now washed and ready for reuse.
Let us know which one you get Bill. My complaint about La Crosse tech is their sending units that sit outside give up after a couple years. This time I bought one of their protective outdoor cases and nailed it to the porch upright. See if that helps.
