Payload suffers because of the coils but this may not matter with towing TT's.

Where do you get that info? It's hard to find specs like you do on a Super Duty, but what I've found shows a rear GAWR of 6,200 lbs. That's a hair higher than an F250.

Slave to truck payments now, new truck will be a little more but it's a lot fancier.

The back seat folds down flat to the floor in the Mega Cab, makes for a space that is about 63" x 48" and I can lay down flat with room to spare in it by laying corner to corner.

In my current F250 I have removed the door panels to give me about an extra 7"-8" of length and still can't lay flat in it, so the RAM will be much better to sleep in.

Payload doesn't suffer with the coils, actually went up a little for the 2014 and later trucks.

But, mine won't have coils in back...

Actually, the towing chart shows the GAWR is 6500 on the rear on the RAM.

When they first came out the coils were weak.

2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup Truck Review

Maybe they have beefed up the coils now.

Your pointing out to a 1500 truck and yes they are weak... The coils on the 2500 RAM are more robust and actually have very little sag when loaded.

Ah, Did you order the air suspension option? I'm surprised no 3500 with the Asin transmission....although its an expensive option.

Not on your life, way too big of a PITA to fool with a clutch and shifting for as many miles as I drive. I prefer to be shiftless...

Yeah, shouldn't it be? All nice steady easy highway miles and good maintenance. All my issues have been outside of the motor.

Yes, self levelling rear air suspension.

No 3500, pushes me up too high in weight class, lowers my profits because it limits the trailers I can tow and stay below 26K GCWR.

And not only is the aisin an extra $3K but it requires a fluid/filter change every 15K in trailer towing apps if you want to keep the warranty.

The truck I am buying comes with a lifetime warranty on the powertrain so if the 68RFE pukes they can fix it. I don't expect it will anytime soon with the kind of use I will put it to.

I spoke with my cousin last week on Christmas who works on RAM trucks now and the 4 things he says they have constant repairs on is the front suspension, the fabulous 68RFE transmission, the exhaust/emission system and the CEL's. He even said the new 3 link front suspension are already needing work. He even replaced two cummins engines due to lower end failure, and several fuel systems both on the 6.7, but this is not a systemic problem at this point.

Also do you delivery campers to Camper World and Holiday World in Katy TX?

Good luck...

Yup, they're all junk, just like ford and gm, all have issues.

Don't go to camping world but do go to Holiday World quite often.

I really like my Ford truck. I just don't care for Ford's warranty service / customer service. We will see how this next warranty visit goes. I hope well otherwise I might be once again in the truck market trying to find something that resembles reliability.
