Easy . With your test lamp in series with the pump wiring . One end to the ground , one to the hot wire . Cycle the key . Test lamp should light . If you own and know how to use a DVOM , that would be better yet .
Then the lamp would not light . ... I ' THINK ' the plug has 2 sizes of wire . The 2 larger wires should be the pump , the smaller ones the sending unit .
Not sure on yours , 1990 colors for front tank , R =power to pump . " O " I guess orange , is ground to pump . Front and rear tank get the ground from same spot . That is for a 90 mdl though ....
Thanks for trying. I'll try the ground tomorrow and let you know how it goes. I sure miss my old 77 f150, For a lame back yard mechanic like me,I knew my way around that truck. This 94 is an electrical challenge for me. If I change the pump should I get a complete unit or just replace the module?
