My CEL is on, can I use my Scan Gauge 2 that I used on my 6.0 or am I stuck with the dealer ??
I'm using the ScanGauge ll from my 6.0
It needed the software to be upgraded and Linear Logic did it for free. Give them a call before sending it in or go to their website.
OK I'll give it a shot and post the DTC, maybe Mike can tell me whats up from that, and I'll check into the software upgrade. I've only had it a few years maybe it don't need the update ?

Mine needed the upgrade to read the egt's. If yours will read them, then it probably doesn't need it.
OK so I haven't had time to set up the scan gauge, but the truck went in the dealer to have a new key made and programmed, so I asked them what the CEL was and an estimate to fix. They charged me $110 to read the CEL and said it was the NOX sensor and the estimate to replace $580. I said to hell wit that I'll replace it myself, but after I picked up the truck the CEL light has not come back on. What should I do ? Just leave it ? Still replace it ? Can it be cleaned ? I've heard guys just cleaning the EGT sensors, re-installing and having no isssues, can the NOX be cleaned.? ANd at $110 to read a code you can be sure my scan gauge will be up and running very shortly !!!!!
Louie, there was an update to the NOx sensor awhile back, (part number BC3Z-9D378-G if I remember the changed up part number correctly). My suggestion is to replace it yourself, and have the PCM reflashed to the latest calibration level (if you haven't already done it).
I figured they reset it, but if it was bad wouldn't it throw the same code again. And I still have warranty but they said its not covered ??? First they tell me anything diesel related is covered, but this sensor is not covered, is it not diesel related ??
