2002 Explorer O2 Sensor Replacment

My 02 Explorer (XLT, 4.0) decided to throw a new code today. PO136, O2 Sensor Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2).

While it may be a wire issue, I still plan to replace the sensor. So the question is;

Can I get to it from under the vehicle or is there an access panel under the console like on the 2nd gens?

I have the sensor on order and plan to get it done on my days off next week.

Any help out there?

I replaced all 4 HO2S on my 2004 Aviator from underneath. The Sensor 2 sensors were pretty easy to change out. The tougher of the 4 sensors were the pre-cat sensors.

Based on the P0136 code, be sure the inspect the wiring when replacing the sensor. And not that you asked, but B1S2 would be the sensor after the catalytic converter on the right side of the truck (passenger side).

Yep, right side (bank 1 - Cylinder 1 side), Sensor 2 (after cat). I ordered the Motorcraft DY1034

Lets hope it's easier than getting the front hubs off..
