Our family packed up the Ex and the camper and made our way from MI to the southernmost KOA in the Florida Keys. As usual the Ex provided plenty of comfort and pulling power.
To my surprise, there are 4 other Excursion/camper combos staying in the campground. Including mine, there are 2rigs from MI, 2 from Indiana, and 1 from Virginia.
I'm used to seeing them here and there but never so many in one spot. Any how, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and safe travels for all.
Welcome to the great state of Fl. I was just in that area 2 days ago visiting some friends. I live in largo Fl and I use the combo set up with my 03 V-10 Excursion. (AKA the Beast) we tow a 33 ft Jayco with no problems...
I'd like to get my x there someday.....then I could say its been from coast to coast. Currently its been from Fairbanks AK to Galveston TX. Florida keys would be better!
This Sunday I plan on taking the Ex and Camper out of storage for a camping trip to Ft Wilderness in Orlando. Will snap some pixs for you guys.

We went to Fort wilderness two years ago and it's an awesome campground! Some of the pools there have waterslides and there are a lot of fun activities. This time of year is one of the busiest for Disney so be prepared to wait in line if you're going to any of the parks.
The guy in the v10 was local to Florida and pulling a pretty big boat with two 250 outboards on the back. I assume it was a v10 because the exhaust pipe was out the side instead of out the back.
I think 2 were 7.3 and the rest 6.0.
I was a little surprised by the gas to diesel ratio because I think Ford produced fewer oil burners. It must be the camping demographic skewing the numbers.
On another note, there were 3 - 5 bull sharks coming into the marina near the fish cleaning station last night. Pretty amazing to see them up close!
On the diesel/V-10 exhaust. Both come out the side in the same spot and are the same size. The only one that comes out the back (next to the hitch) is the 5.4.
Either way it is nice to see them used the way they should be!

Correct, I've noticed that a lot of ex's down here are diesels that's why I asked for the count lol

Pretty much the same ratio that I've seen at campgrounds too. As I've been told many many times, "If you tow heavy, a diesel is a MUST!" I'll have to remember that if I ever get a big trailer........
Hope your weather has been great and safe travels!
I guess I was one of those at Ft wilderness. We go there often because, we live 70 miles west of there. Matter of fact will be heading over there today for 4 days. Awesome place to camp and spend time with family.
