Does anybody know if the rear chrome bumper for a 61 unibody was a carryover from the 57-60 series F100s. I found one at Ecology today and was just wondering if it would be correct. I knoww it will fit. Thanks Rich.
I'm not sure if this helps, but my 63 unibody has a rolled pan from the factory covering the area between the bottom of the tailgate and extending down below the frame ends. It didn't have a bumper on it when I bought it, but any bumper brackets would have had to have bolted to the frame and dropped the bumper down below the rolled panel... I'm not sure if your 61 is the same, but this arrangement sounds kinda funky for standard pickup bumper mounts. Again, not sure if this help with your question or not...
I remember seeing pictures of a unibody here or on slick 60s that had a chrome rear bumper. It looked alot like the one on this 60 F100 at the wrecking yard. I went back and got it this morning it will bolt right up and look decent. Now all I need is some chrome for the front.
If I would have stayed in line I would have got it for $34 but I got too hot (actually had to go to urgent care) and bailed. I went back this morning and it was still where I left it $68 with the brackets. I did get a transaxle and still shiny new clutch for my dads honda for $95.
