Merry Christmas
#2
Funny - I just realized it was Christmas Day a few hours ago. I get to where I have to look up what day it is in the bottom corner of my monitor screen - retirement will do that to ya...
But then again, so many holidays went by that I was floating around in the big blue empty, or was standing duty while everyone else it seemed like got to 'sally forth' to go see what was under the tree in their living rooms, with their families all gathered for a big dinner and a day together, I kind of got immunized over the years to all sorts of holidays.
TO THOSE OF YOU STANDING DUTY:
Merry CHRISTMAS!
To those of you who just got off watch:
Merry CHRISTMAS!
To those of you who have a satellite connection and an online connection in your shop on the boat:
Merry CHRISTMAS!
To those of you who are deployed, on duty, or wherever you may be, and that "Christmas Cheer" thing seems to have a unit of issue 01 EA label stamped on the side of it - MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Not all of them are going to be spent far away, and it does seem to make the coming home so much the sweeter for what we had to wait a little longer for.
Our thoughts are with you, even as you too think of home.
God bless you
Be of good cheer
Look after one another
And may the end of your tour of duty see you returned home safely to us once again...
AMEN
