I need to replace the big rubber peace because the arm has play. Does any rubber peace fit? Falcon , maverick all look the same. So I was wondering if anyone fits ?
Based on the number of views with no responses, I don't think anyone knows what the heck you're referring to...... Provide more clarity and maybe a picture of the part(s). Help us to help you.
I had assumed your question was about steering control valves as in a power steering system.. then your post refers to Mavericks and Falcons which throws that assumption out the window.
rag joint(steering coupler) maybe? if so they can be found in the "help" section of your local parts house.
No rag joint. 1966 F100 4WD & 1967/75 F100/250 4WD have a lower steering shaft and coupler. It attaches to the input shaft of the steering gearbox with a clamp and thru bolt.
I also wonder what the OP is referring to, as 1973 was the first year that P/S was available with 4WD
Power Assist P/S was used on 1973/75 F100 4WD, 1975 F150 4WD & 1973/77 F250 4WD (High Boy's).
It was also used on Falcon's, Mavericks, 1965/70 Mustang's, 1975/80 Granada's and etc.
I'm going to assume that based on the description, that Bendix Power Assist P/S was swapped in, but the 'big rubber piece' the OP is referring to...is nothing more than a dust shield.
Behind the dust shield is the ball stud that attaches the control valve to the Pitman Arm. When it wears, it causes play in the steering.
Pic: Stud and dust shield only available with the 3A533 Ball Stud Repair Kit.
