As part of the resto-mod for my 1982 F100, I wanted to look at changing out the instrument gauge cluster in the dash to aftermarket gauges. I am fine with the dash, but wanted to either use sheet metal or have one custom made to mount the aftermarket gauges in. Also, currently being an automatic, I do not have a tach. I bought an aftermarket tach, but don't really want a separate gauge hanging from somewhere.
Has anyone done this? Have pics? Just trying to get ideas...
I went with gauges from Speedhut. Gauges, Custom Gauges, Tachometers, Speedometers, Shift Light, Pod Mine shipped today and are supposed to arrive on Christmas eve. I am making a panel that will fit where the old instruments were, so the original clear plastic cover will not be used. No pictures yet, but will start working on it shortly, so...

That's awesome Ron. Same idea I have. I figured I could find a way to make it work. One thing that I am trying to keep somehow is the automatic tranny position indicator on the original cluster, at least for now..
I'd love to ask you some questions sometime, maybe PM, over your 408 stroker. I am planning on doing the same thing this year, and am picking up a 1971 351w engine this weekend for it.
