I've seen where others have relocated to the cowling and seem to have decent coverage. I'm picking my new camper up at the end of January, will see how much it extends over the cab. I'm thinking it might be enough that it would still block at the cowl.
Considering either just making a sheet metal bracket to wrap back over the hood or just biting the bullet and drill holes and mounting it permanently there at the front. I have a bug shield so it would just blend in either way.
Yep, it's actually a RG174 coax with Fakra connectors. I'll probably have to have a custom cable built as it'll end up being longer than most of the extensions. The roof top antenna connects under the dash at the sterring column so it's easy to get to

yep, under the dash is where I accidentally cut mine, while crimping one of the passthru/upfitter connections (don't use a crimper with a cutter on the end!)
The one I have was used because my Okanagan 117dbl truck camper blocked the roof mounted Antena. With another Antena mounted to the left of the drivers side windshield wiper it never lost signal.
