My wife has one of the ugliest Rooster pitchers, so ugly , well anyway I looked on ebay and saw one selling for $700. He's better looking now. I only have one yardstick, it's aluminum, use it as a straight edge to check heads, manifolds etc. Yea, it's boring around here. 27 degrees, no heat in the shop. I'm watching re-runs of Andy Griffith re-runs.

Maybe you will get to see the 56 pickup that Former drives when he makes a citizens arrest on Barney. Or another 56 Andy takes on a camping trip with Opie.
Edit: That should read "Gomer"!!! I wrote this with my tablet this morning and it self corrects! Yuk, technology!
I always loved Aunt Bee's 55 Victoria convertible. It never fails to amaze me how they try to make it out as a junker, but today, we would die to find that car in 6 year old condition.
Back in '58, Miss Bailey at Richmond Beach Elementary could splinter a yardstick with the best of 'em. In fact there was a popular song schoolkids would sing in those days. Went something like this... 'Glory, glory Halleluia, teacher hit me with a ruler'. It was almost as popular as the one that started like this. 'Whistle while you work, Hitler was a jerk....'. Bonus points to anyone who can complete these short songs. I have never been so bored recuperating from heart surgery, like you can't tell.... Back to work half days now. Relief in sight.

At only 52, I must be too young to know any Hitler songs. The glory, glory song, otoh, I remember quite vividly. Problem is, if we sang it today we'd likely get arrested as it relays bringing a "loaded 44" to school and getting even with said teacher. My how times have changed.

Oh great, now homeland security is zeroing in on FTE... And the US version isn't as good. 'Hit her on the bean with a rotten tangerine, and her teeth came marching out'. That's the liberal Western Washington version anyways. Hint : the Hitler one involves a fascist dictator with the first name of Benito. OK, off to another grueling 1/2 day at work. Just saw a black drone outside my kitchen window!
The way I learned the song was:
Glory, glory hallelujah
Teacher hit me with a ruler
The ruler wouldn't do so she hit me with her shoe
And now I'm black and blue.
You got her a pair of dining table leaves? That's an odd gift.
Very Good eye, but no!

That would make storing all those things much easier, I always dread putting them up and putting them away. Luckily I missed out on getting everything out this year, came home late one night from work in Late November and the yard was all lit up and all the Christmas decorations were out!
