cat question

Hi

I have a 1990 4x2 f-150 5sp with th I6 300.. the truck has 155000KM and lacks a bit power now, i was thinking about emptying the cat (no tests required where I live) so that i can let the engine breath better and get a better performance out of it.

My question is.. the easiest way to do it i figured was to cut out the cat.. hollow it and then reconnect it.. i cant weld it, what is the best way i can do it ? special fittings i could use ? any comments appreciated.

Also.. anyone done this and installed a cherry bomb ? what sound would I get ? (i saw one that was completely hollow.. just a long empty red tube, pretty cheap at 20 $ CN, is it worth it ?

thanks !

Stephane
