I did a conversion on a explorer years ago....used dana 44 from early bronco 78-79 f-150 outers (5 on 5.5 bolt pattern)...called moser and they made me axles for the rear 8.8 explorer housing with 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern re drilled drums rear axle matched front....very easy not alot of money plus you get better axles in the rear than stock.
