re New

Hey just wanted to introduce my project truck. 1948 Ford 1/2 ton frame with a flat head v8 believe it is 60 hp. 3 speed . I have a 1938 International harvester sectioned 6 inches . Hard to find parts for.
Looking for advise if I should peruse using the flat head with an automatic for my wife . I like the look but not sure it is practical for today’s driving.
I would post a couple pics later when I figure it out. Thanks Merry Christmas Mississauga Ont.

It depends on what your trying to achieve with the truck. The flat head will look good and match the era of the truck and you can mate it to an automatic with the right adapters. Flatheads can be reliable but even after a rebuild their not going to make a ton of power. My '48 Fordor is no speedster.
Since your already mixing it up with an IH body and Ford frame anything goes. Mustang drive trains are easy to find or you could go for a straight six?
There's also budget to consider. Some times for the price of an engine rebuild you can pick up a good running donor vehicle and many useable parts.
I've always like the looks of the IH so in my mind you have a good start just think through the intended use and stick to a plan.
