Long story, I had the R V8 engine for my truck long before I had the truck.
The engine was in a 50 Business Coupe. Right now it is set up for a car, narrow belts no ears on the pumps ect.
I may have the correct crank pulley on a spare crank. I have all the bellhousing stuff covered. I know I will need two wide pulley trunk pumps. I guess I need a wide Generator pulley.
Besides a new fan and pulley what else do I need to swap the engine into the truck?
I am running a Car EAB engine in my truck. (It came that way) I had to put the Car pulleys on truck WP's to resolve the motor mount situation (the PO thought it was OK to let the engine lay down on the axle...). It has a Car oil pan and matching oil pickup (different than trucks). With the car pan, you can't use the dust shield. I'm not entirely sure which starter plate I have but it works.
Switching the pulleys over is a big deal. I sometimes wish I had turned it into a true truck engine. Pulleys are hard to come by, and likely to get damaged when pressing on/off.
Note that no cars used the truck-style fan. If you stay with narrow belts, you are stuck with the 3 or 4 blade car fans. I've had no problem with the Car 3-blade and a good, clean radiator.
