Hi all, I have been reading a lot here lately so I can get more of an idea of what I my truck to look like and what setup I want. Now I don't plan on going hardcore when I hit the trails and this is my daily. I have heard a that the TTB setup will crack and break when under a lot of stress and that is sucks for off road. I don't really want to do a SAS but I will if it is nessacery? What do you guys thinks?
I would not recommend it for occasional off road use. If you were going to go hardcore, then yes, it would be beneficial, but I personally think the TTB will be fine for your intended use.

I agree. My '91 Ranger was TTB and did fine off road in the deserts and forest trails. I didn't try to go anywhere a short wheelbase Jeep would go, but I got into to pretty gnarly stuff.
Just keep an eye (ear) on the radius arm bushings. If you hear a thud coming from under the seat, it's time to change them.
I have gone WAY off the beaten path, and never found anything (driven carefully) that the stock TTB couldn't handle, then still drive straight on the freeway afterwards at 70mph on the way home.
Now if you are one of those who want to hit mud-holes and ruts/rocks at 60mph like you are driving a Raptor...........all bets are off.
