Broke leaf spring
Well today I was driving the big 6 to work and I heard a sound like pots and pans hitting the floor and the a continuous metallic noise all the way to work. Pulled in to work started investigating and found half a leaf sitting in the pack and on the axle. The other one must have fallen out on the road. The two middle leafs on the passenger side are broken off in the back. Question is how long/safe is this to keep driving the truck is just a farm chore truck and my occasional drive to work vehicle never sees over 60mph or tows heavy.

This is a common problem on this vintage F-150. I replaced the rear springs on my '94. My '88 is about like that and I have been driving it like that a long time. I guess you(we) are kind of trusting luck that that main spring doesn't break.
