PMR powdered metal rods. Not as strong as the forged ones. They were introduces in 2001. There was a trial of 30000 motors( I think that was the number) then the used up the remaining forged rods and finished the 7.3's with the pmr's. I think the trial was in 2000 and 2001 is when they went to pmr's. 02-03 should all be pmr's. The best way to figure out what it has inside is to remove one of the block inspection holes and rotate the motor till you see a rod cap. The studs on the two at different

Thanks Nick! I had no idea.. Sounds kinda like the cummins 53 block in a way...

It will have to have them.I wouldn't give much if performance was ever something in its future.

Lol... I think carnage is pretty interesting.. My buddy had this one in his shop the other day out of a high speed MWM, 2600ish hp.. Made a nice Block observation hole...

You mean the one out of the 02 in Maine? He told me he'd take 1000 for the motor and that was b4 we got serious about negotiating... Oh well.. Its a PMR anyway not that thats all that bad but now i know its less desireable...

I read that at 800 for motor. But if you interested I have a motor I'd sale. I'm just south of Tulsa ok
