Running new wire from the pin box into the forward compartment. Larger gauge for power from the truck. Brake controller in truck to the new disk brake actuator.
I fished a length of conduit from the pin box to the forward compartment.

Looks good, Roy...nice work! That heavy gauge wire sure is expensive.
Maybe I missed it...how are you planning on getting more power from the truck to the trailer? Aren't you limited by the max draw through the hitch?

The long run of undersized wire is creating too much voltage drop....... So I will increase the wire size for the entire run.... from truck batteries to the Montana batteries. The 7-pin connector can handle enough current I believe.

Just passing along a link that I found interesting.

I've also read that you should consider increasing the size of the grounding wire at the 7 pin connector on both sides to handle a possible increased flow back to the truck.

Still waiting on the 8K axles to arrive..... But, I have plenty to keep me busy.
The rotors take 2 men and a boy to carry...... The hardware is heavy stuff.

Do the new axles come with leaf springs and if so will they bolt up to the existing mounting points?

The new springs are 4K lbs each.

One of the old ones lost the arch, and is flatten........

Tim, it's nice that your wife will help with drywall. I'm certain Jodi would help as well, but then we would have two people who at drywall, doing drywall.
Looking forward to more progress pics Roy. Just try not to overdo anything with your back!
