Only suggestion I'd make is cutting off the excess bolts and either grinding the top smooth with top of nut or removing the nut and installing acorn nuts. I just reread you were going to do this already...never mind. Sorry.

Did you relocate it there so it's easier to plug in?

The 7 pin connector on mine is located on the drivers side tailgate pillar. Does not obstruct stuff in the bed and easily accessed.

He has the swing in storage boxes that mount to the rear of the bed, and the wiring and plug would be in the way when the box is swung in.

Yeah, wasn't meant for Mr. Roy he's already placed his. Intent was for someone who may be looking for alternate location.

Thanks Sam,

AJ

The original location of the 7-pin socket was easy to access/use, but it was in the way of a "swing out" tool box I want to install.

I am using the nylon insert nuts so they wont vibrate loose. Acorn nut with lock washer would be great too. Nylon insert nuts.....in stock.

That would be a great location !!

For me, I have a swing out tool box that needs that space to be installed......

Gerry.....Andre.....AJ.....Sam
Thank you all for the comments...suggestions...and kind words...

I have also decided that I need to seal the area where the 7-pin socket meets the plastic cover of the tailgate. No need allowing water to access the inside of the tailgate.

Some refinements or modifications are in the works..........

that also means you cannot remove the tailgate, right? without whatever to unplug those connectors, clip wire ties, ...
