Red head steering or PSC?
I can send in my 78 f150 box to red head, have it re-geared but they won't drill and tap it for hydro assist. They said call PSC and send them just the hood to be drilled and taped.
Called PSC and talked with a salesman who said they wouldn't just drill and tap it but, rebuild the whole thing. Then went on to say it would be a few months before a re-gear kit would come in to rebuild it.
I could drill and tap it myself from some of the pictures on here i have seen but, not sure if i want to take that chance.
Any suggestions?

yes that seems to be the easiest solution but, it has to be tapped in the hood and all the pictures and info I have seen, they are all tapped in the body.
If I sent them a tapped body, they would return an un-tapped body because they send out their bodies to be machined to fit the needle bearings and have a stock pile of ones that are already machined and ready for assembly.

I read this and it sounds like you just need to ask co425 to drill and tap your hood for you....
Then send it to Redhead and ask them to NOT replace the already drilled and tapped hood, and to just paint it red like theirs??
Or go co425 route of red head 1st and get smarter and more confident on drilling and tapping it yourself.
Any local 4x4 or serious off road rock crawler/bouncer guys in your area? They are all about that hydro assist stuff, maybe you can locate one with the experience to not mess up you brand new Red head box?
