Max tire size- 2010 Expedition 4x4

I would like to buy my son a set of tires for Christmas.
He has a 2010 Expedition EL 4x4 with 18" wheels.
He would like to install the largest size tire WITHOUT any lift or clearance issues. He does mostly hwy driving with an occasional trip off road, and Winter snow in Illinois.
This is a cosmetic thing.

What tire sizes have you installed or can recommend that would give him satisfactory performance.

Well I threw the dice and ordered a set of Nitto EXO Grapplers in 275-70-18.
From my research these should fit without problems.

I will post if any problems occur.

For the record,
The 275-70-18 Nitto's went on without a problem. Installed and purchased at Discount Tire.
They said there would be no rubbing but this was about MAX size without issues.
