need help finding a fitting

I also cant spell very good.
anyway, im working on adapting a 87ish ford 5.0 engine to a 54 ford pickup. using a Toyota 4x4 power steering box, and stock foxbody 5.0 serpentine accessories. so this means a stock power steering pump. now, I can find on the shelf hoses for the pump end all day long. unfortunately, the other end is giving me fits. so I went to the local hydraulic hose shop today to talk with them about my options. took both hose ends, and hoped to get a new piece of rubber crimped between the two.
no dice. no love. no joy.
we did find an end that mates with the Toyota box perfectly, had the right radius, etc. so that end is a win. we also figured out that we can use a JIC fitting at the other end, if I can find an adapter for the stock ford pump to AN, preferably in -6. I know such a fitting has to exist. I cannot be the only insane guy to try this. summit had no ideas. neither did jegs. googling has turned up nothing. so im begging for help.
thanks guys.
Michael

can't you cut the end off the ford hose [ that goes into the box ] and the end off the Toyota hose[ that goes into the pump ]? then connect the two with a male and female fitting ? That's what I had to do with mine .

It depends on what year of pump you have. 1978-89 used a 5/16 fitting and 1990-2004 used a 16mm x 1.5 swivel fitting. I don't know what fits the older pumps.

This is for the metric fitting:

Its a Russel 670530 and is available on Summits site. You will need to use the factory teflon washer though.

1965/77 Ford P/S pumps have a steel reservoir, the P/S pressure hose threads onto the pump.

1978: Ford changed the P/S pump on everything (except cars with Hydro-Boost & Econolines that use the Saginaw pump-resembles a 'canned ham').

This new Ford pump has a plastic reservoir, it's also smaller in diameter. The P/S pressure hose attaches to the pump w/a qwik connect fitting.

From the 1980/89 Ford truck parts catalog:

Left: Plastic reservoir pump / Right (lower): 1980/87 F100/350 & Bronco 255/302/351W P/S pump & hose installation.

Toyota PS box uses 2 different sized fittings: High pressure hose fitting is 16mm inverted flare same as many OEM PS pumps and boxes. Low pressure return hose to box fitting is non standard 17mm inverted flare that originally had a short length of steel tubing in it. This fitting is difficult to find, is not sold separately, Toyota doesn't sell it. If you did not get the fitting with your box, Mid Fifty sells a Toyota hose kit that includes a 17mm adapter fitting. Gotta Show sells a braided stainless hose kit that contains their own manufactured 16mm and 17mm stainless low profile banjo fittings that are great if you have hose to header clearance/heat issues. The box end of the return hose, being low pressure, just pushes over the tube at the box fitting and is clamped with a simple hose clamp, no special hose needed.
Where in NC are you?
