PCV Flow Test?
owner's manual says that at 150,000 miles one should perform a PCV Flow Test. Anyone know what this procedure is?
I've owned this truck for a year and every winter my oil cap has moisture under it, where i've never had this happen on any other vehicle i've owned. I checked it this morning and the cap was nearly frozen to the valve cover. And this in only 2,000 miles since the last change where the cap was clean (in warmer weather).
The moisture, combined with using 1qt ever 2,000 miles makes me think the PCV system may not be working properly, but i can't find anything about how to check it since they made it a "non-maintenance item" by making it mystical and over-complicated (nothing works perfectly forever, ya know).
any ideas?
my truck is never short tripped. my morning commute is about 20 miles to work and 20 miles back. if the truck gets run it is always on for 20 minutes or more. i'd really like to check it out and verify it is working properly.
