I have a 1997 Expedition that keeps losing battery power after sitting for a day or two. I made sure the doors were all closed and I made sure all the interior lights were off even the glove compartment. Everything is off like its supposed to be. It was still doing it so without testing anything I pulled out the battery saver relay and the battery no longer drains. So my question is could this be the problem or could it still be possibly the GEM? Does pulling the battery saver relay cut off power to the GEM?
Among other things the battery saver relay also controls the interior lamp relay and the accessory delay relay. I suggest plugging the BS relay back in and removing one of the others, each on a separate day. Doing this will help narrow down where the actual draw might be. The rear wiper is controlled by the BS relay, so you can also follow the advice from alwaysfords41 and pull fuse #12 from under the dash and see if the drain stops.
Well I bought the Expedition about a Year ago and the rear wiper was unplugged. I noticed it was plugged so I plugged it back in. So hopefully that is what the problem is. is the wiper fuse 12?because the diagram is showing something else for number 12 under the dash.
