Truck died

Yesterday, truck ran for 5 seconds then died. Fuel filters changed 4 months ago. Wrench emblem showing on dash. Will any code readers from auto parts stores work to lead me in right direction? I figure it stuck egr valve. Any more ideas

Thanks in advance

Most DTC readers will read most codes. Have the code read and let us know.

Will 100$ scanner from harbor freight with a 2008 f450? Has anyone used one on a 6.4 truck?

It should read generic emissions codes.
But ford specific ones probably not. Unless it says so.

That is an injector control module detection error.

I really don't think that is a valid code. Clear it and see again.

i did clear them and it comes out again so im guessing its a loose injector wire connector under the valve cover

Bought the scanner from autozone and it says no codes? But wrench light is still on in info center of dash. Any other ideas or why it dosent find codes.

Does show a code because it cannot read the ford specific codes.

Wrench indicates a powertrain fault of some kind.

You are going to have to get ford to read it or buy a scanner that will read the specific codes for ford.
