I need a reproduction tailgate for my 56 F100. Is there a "best reputable" source for this tailgate? Is there a certain gauge that I should be looking for?

 

I think they would all be the same, made in china, check the vendor closest to you for the best shipping rate.

If you are in the market for an exact reproduction tailgate, there are no better than this one. Heavy guage and exact dimensions. You can find cheaper tailgates but you won't find a better tailgate.

I agree with everyone. I have had the DC one and it was very nice.

 

I believe Carpenter makes his own so his are better than foreign made. Go to Carpenters websites to see how many parts he makes on site.
