Replace the sway-bar. You bent it, too, and now it's holding the truck "swayed".
optikal illushun is right - a more correct name for "shocks" is "spring dampers". They slow down whatever the springs are trying to do, but moreso when the frame is moving away from the axles.

Have the frame checked to make sure it's still straight. If you hit hard enough to break a spring, you could have done a lot more serious damage.

You now have one new spring and one 8yr old spring. That's worse than mixing old and new batteries. Your old spring has already settled, has lost a lot of it's "spring", and isn't a comparison to the "new" one. However, that isn't as significant if you pulled it from a junker.

I tend to disagree. Yeah, the shocks do just that shock absorb...But have you ever replaced old shocks? I gaurentee you that you are higher. I just replaced my rear shock and my rear end sticks up higher. My old shocks weren't doing a thing...If he ruptured his shocks, they very well could contribute to sagging...

They have a LITTLE pressure inside them, but since you KNOW you can compress them by hand, they MUST be putting less "lift" on the truck than YOU could if you were under it pushing up with both hands.
