I had a set of Rhoads along with a Comp Cams 268 in my 410. The idle was a little smoother with them, but I got tired of the noise while idleing; and I thought they may have been the reason for the engine's pinging under moderate loads. So I swaped them out for standard hydraulic lifters. I am happy that the noise is now gone, but I still get pinging around 4deg BTC, but is seems to be a little better.
I did not notice any difference in power, but I have always had difficulty with my 7th sense (Seat-of-the-Pants)
I have heard they make a bigger difference on more radical cams, so that might explain my experience, but I still got tired of the noise--sounded like poorly adjusted solid lifters.
