... or a high-lift jack, port-a-power, or the hydraulic cylinder of an engine hoist.
Be resourceful!
It's the only flexplate model they seem to have for my truck. It Could be a fuel issue but since I'm hearing a short spin after I release the ignition I'm thinking they aren't matching up correctly.
Wabi sabi says... You got bigger problems then a xmember install now. Figure out your starting problem before getting the xmember back in. the way this is going you might need to take it right back out if your flex plate ain't right.
So I got it started. It seems like it just wasn't getting fuel. So it looks like I did the plate correct.
I was back under there again trying to beat that cross member into submission but she hasn't given up yet.. Keep in mind I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm on my back in my drive way. This whole job has been done with nothing but a few tools and some ingenuity.
So.. next question. I have what looks like two coolant lines coming from the trans, is the third one a vaccum line? And.. I didn't know to mark the drive shaft until a few days after I pulled it, damn.. So, what will happen if its upside down when I try to drive it??

Yes the third one is a vacuum line.
To line up the driveshaft just make sure all the U joints are clocked the same.
Here's my two-piece intermediate crossmember...
Cut in half, down the center and reconnected with a homemade bracket and grade 8 hardware...
Because if you are running a 460 with Hooker Super Comp headers there is absolutely no way to install the headers with the engine in the truck and the intermediate crossmember in place.
It is also impossible to install the intermediate crossmember with the headers installed.

Oh, that's nice. I was back under there today, still no dice. I'm going to have to cut it.
