2000 Excursion vibration from underneath
I'm new to this forum as I've just bought a 2000 Ford Excursion 4X2 and i hope i can be an active member here.
As the title says, i noticed a vibration coming from the area underneath and most probably from the transmission/drive shaft area. The previous owner mentioned something about replacing the transmission extension housing bushing multiple times and i thought that this might be the problem.
The vibration is not constant on all speeds, it's more noticeable on low RPMs and disappears when i floor it.
I wanted to buy a new set of bushings and seals for the extensions housing/tail, but i'm a little bit concerned about the housing itself being compromised.
So here are my thought and i need your suggestions:
1- Buy new bushings and hope that the issue is resolved.
2- Buy a new or a reman extension housing.
3- Check the drive shaft as it might be the source of the problem.
What do you guys suggest? has anyone experienced any similar issue before?
Also, when i searched FORD website for the extension housing part number, i ended up with a short part number that doesn't give me the exact extension housing for my application. Can anyone help me with that?
Here is the VIN: 1FMNU40S0YEA31813
and this is the part number form FORD website: 7A039
I really need you help guys and i appreciate your input.
Thanx
