Did you spend a lot of time at high rpm trying to pull the truck out? Did the engine seem to struggle a lot?
It is possible that you either overheated the ATF or you fried a clutch or two. Either condition could lead to junk floating around in the ATF which could cause a valve to get sticky and not allow normal shifts.
I would check the fluid to see if it is nice and red. If it is pink or brown and or smells burnt you may have a problem. I would then drop the pan and look for lots of sediment that looks like pepper. If you have say more than a teaspoon or so, the clutches may be damaged. You really don't want to see more than one or two bits of metal larger than a grain of rice in the pan.
If you are very lucky, a good fluid change and or tranny flush might fix the problem.
Good Luck. Pulling guy out of a mud bog can be tricky.

Is the O/D light flashing? Get the codes retieved. If no codes.
Inspect the vacuum modulator on the passengers side at the back of the transmission. Pull the vacuum line off and see if there is any tans fluid that drips out. If there is fluid in the line replace the modulator valve and dont lose the little rod that is behind it you will need to use it with the new valve.
