Haha, man this is so true. For me, when I buy a vehicle, it is mandatory that the entire interior gets ripped out, power washed, and back together. It is amazing how much better they smell look when this is done.

Yeah i see plenty of thrashed vehicles come into three shop. When i bought the Subaru I swear i found enough dog hair under the back seat to make another dog.

To the OP, hope it all works out! These are great tucks. Let us know what else you find with r one you get it.

Well, I bought it. Talked him down to 3750. floor pans and cab mounts are in amazing condition considering the cab corners and box is toast. jacked up the front suspension leaf bushings are tight, and wheel bearings are good. found out that it has a built in exhaust brake. EBPV is sticking when under 40mph and when not on throttle. Idk if it is heads or valve covers that are leaking really bad.. I dont know how he thought it was a dipstick.... But my only concern is if it is the heads.. because according to the receipt the valve covers were just done. and just idling in driveway it will leave about a 2" puddle after 3 minutes.
. blow by there is none really considering mileage. shifts really smooth clutch feels great. turbo pedestal doesn't appear to be leaking.

What side is the puddle on? Could possibly be oil cooler if it's the drivers side... I'm not an expert by any means but I haven't heard of these heads puking oil like that...

Maybe one of the oil rail plugs on the back of the heads is leaking? The dipstick tube to pan adapter is a common leaker.

Sorry there are no updates. Been extremely busy with school and work. I'm hoping tomorrow to go pressure wash the whole undercarriage and engine compartment. So when unwell my 79 I can put it in my dads shop and stop tearing her down. If I need parts is riffraff still a good place. I'm just asking because I get a company discount at local bumper to bumper (Napa) but I was extremely pleades with riff rafts service and prices. But if the o-rings and gaskets are a higher quality I'll go with riff raff. But if they are stock o-rings I'll just go to local parts store.

Riffraff uses Viton orings. Way better than stock. The products they manufacture are all made in the USA. You can't go wrong with them.

Found this, down this way in Baraboo - https://madison.craigslist.org/pts/4760551534.html - it's from an '86 though, so it might look out of place.

I might even just rebuild cooler, filter housing, fuel lines for preventative maintenance.. ill most likely do the 6637 kit and throw out the k&n. As well as 3" body to get the 5" system. Is there anything else I should save for. Bellows d66? Oh and ihaven't decided I'd I should delete ebpv with a blank pedestal or wire it up for exhaust brake. I will be hauling wood on a 30' gooseneck.

To get a 3" dp in you don't need a porta power.just have to bend the lip down.a pry bar works just fine..I wouldn't do a body lift unless u need room for larger tires.

I just realized that I can't do a body lift because of gooseneck. Would be a secondary safety chain and rip my box off. As well as be a pain to raise and lower is an extra three inches.

Take out the "most likely". Dump that K&N ASAP; they let in too little air, too much dust. And you don't need a "kit", since you already have the tubing for the K&N. Just get the 6637 (or whatever the Baldwin / Donaldson equivalent is) and put it on the existing tubing in place of the K&N.

I'd add that it'd be bennifical to use the 6637 equivalent that has the inner mesh.. I forget what it is off the top of my head..
EDIT: found it...
