Most rear diffs will work with 75W90 or if you run in high temps and tow you might go 90W140. With syn just stick with 75W90. You will also need one maybe two tubes of limited slip additive.
If the semisyn meets spec it will probably work. Also check for Limited Slip compatibility if that is an issue.
I tend to lean away from semi syn since they charge closer to the syn price but they usually cost the maker closer to the dino price to make. So I feel the semisyn is more of a marketing ploy to get more $ for something that is only a llittle syn. If you are going to pay almost syn price, might as well go syn.
