Makin' a little progress on my '66 hot rod Fire Chiefs truck

Got a little artwork done on the doors and I picked up this way cool vintage single red rotating "cherry" for the top of the pickup. Perfect size and its already got the magnets installed so I dont have to drill holes. I'm gonna power it with a small 6 V duracell flat battery that will fit inside the unit so it will be self contained.

Nice lowered stance on the truck. Being a old red truck it really makes it stand out. Anytime you can avoid drilling holes is the best way to go. What else you have planned for the truck? An old vintage spot light mounted by the drivers mirror would be a good addition to the red light.

Just came back to check this thread again and I can't believe how much I like the ride height and stance of this longbed truck!

1961/66 F100/1100 R & L spotlights & their mounting brackets are still available from Unity (unityusa.com), the source that FoMoCo originally bought them from.

Our trucks look alike, or at least they did when I started my build. Here's a picture when I started.

Thanks for the kind remarks guys. As for the stance, it was already done when I bought it but I can tell you that its got a Fatman MII front end and mono leafs out back. I'd like to "maybe" add a spotlight, I've got some old tools and equipment that I'm going to display in the back in some kind of homemade tool box and I've also got some vintage firefighting gear that I will use as well. I just finished restoring/cleaning/polishing an old brass soda fire extinguisher that will also be part of the "show" so to speak. Also going to use and old small handheld brass fire extinguisher for the overflow tank.

Getting ready to work on the interior and I notice that a lot of folks are using this foil backed bubble wrap for insulation on the floors, doors and such. My question is wouldn't the bubbles pop if you used them under the carpet? I could see that it would work good for the doors and firewall and other areas of the cab though.
