Hey ya'll,

just a quick question.....after a rain fall...I will go outside and start my truck up...here is the problem....I get a really loud cherping sound coming from the engine...it almost sounds like a belt problem. It goes away once the truck warms up. Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be and how to fix it? Thanks everyone!

I don't know what it could be. But from what I have learned, if it sounds like a belt, it probably is a belt. Why don't you open the hood and start it up, listen to it while its making the noise and see if you can locate the problem by ear. It could be rain getting on the acc belt somewhere cuasing some pulley's to squek. Does your belt look good still? Good Teeth, Smooth on the backside, no cracks, etc? Is it still strung tight?
