1971 F250 Cooling Problems
I have had constant problems with the engine running hot. So finally, I took out the engine and had it disassembled and evaluated.
Well, we found something really interesting. There is a hole on the underside of the intake manifold. This hole is in one of the exhaust runners that heat up the carb. I have had constant problems with large amounts of gas coming out of the engine breather - I thought it was blow-by. However, now it seems to be exhaust.
Has anyone run into this problem?

David
Yes, it's not that uncommon for FE's to crack and blow out that crossover, especially so on the factory aluminum ones. Makes you think you got a ton of blow-by. If it's bad enough it can blow out the dipstick and a bunch of oil too.
